Help

Please read the following before contacting site staff for help. Thank you! If you still need help after reading, please send your question via e-mail.

Getting Started:
• Fill out the form and include your real email address.
• Check your email for your temporary password. If you do not receive an e-mail, as sometimes authors' ISPs mistakenly identify these automatic e-mails as spam, please check your spam or bulk mail folder. If it's not there, contact site staff and we will arrange to generate another password.
Login with your username and the password that was e-mailed to you.
• Change your password to one you will remember by going to the "Your Account" page and selecting "Edit Personal Information".

Adding stories:
• First, register and log in
• Go to the "Your Account" page, where you''ll see several links
• Select "Add New Story" and you will be taken to the Submission Guidlines.
• At the bottom of the Submission Guidelines page is a drop-down box with category selections. Choose the category that best fits your story and click on the "select" button. You must choose a category, and the script only allows you to choose one category per story.
• You''ll now be at the Add New Story page. This is where you will enter your story.
• In order for your story to go through, you must select at least one genre, character, and rating. All stories must also have titles and summaries.
• You may copy the text into text box, or upload a text or html file.
• Stories may be uploaded as either plain text or html, although some html tags are not permitted by the software. See the information next to the submission box on the submission page for details.
• If you upload your story as a text files, make sure it is a text files without line breaks. If text files contain line breaks, then this screws up the formatting of your story, making it look odd at different screen resolutions.
• Please do not put hypertext links, italics or bold tags in the summary. This messes up the formatting on the front page. If you wish to link to your own site, please do so through your user profile.
• Once you've entered everything, you can preview your story by selecting "Preview" or jump straight to "Add Story". If there are any problems with your entry, you will be prompted to fix them before the story is accepted by the script.

Marking a story as complete:
• From the "Your Account" page, select "Edit / Delete Stories".
• In the table you will see your story title and summary and the word "No" with a link.
• Click the word "No" and it will change to "Yes". This indicates that your story is complete.

Adding chapter:
• On the "Your Account" page, select Add New Chapter from the list of options and proceed.

Ratings:
All stories must be labeled with the appropriate rating. Please note that due to recent crack-downs by the MPAA, this site will not be using the NC-17 rating. Please DO NOT include that rating in any part of your story. Instead, please use our alternate "Adult" rating.

The archivists do not audit the ratings which authors have chosen, nor do we modify the ratings of stories without the author''s consent. Readers are warned that because this information is considered the author's responsibility, it may be incomplete or inaccurate.

Story Validation
All new submissions need to be validated by the archivist before they show up on the site. If you have submitted an e-mail address with your author profile, you should receive notification once the story has been approved. If you have any concerns about delays, please feel free to contact site staff.

Reviews:
• You may leave a review for any story either anonymously or by name if you log into your account. It only takes a moment, so even if you're not an author, register so that you can show the authors some love and they''ll know who you are.
• You can manage your reviews by logging into your account and selecting View Reviews from the list of options under Your Account. You can also respond to individual reviews using this option.

Editing Personal Information:
There are a number of things you can do by editing your personal information, including changing your bio, setting it up so that you receive e-mail notifications of reviews you receive, carrying information across between chapters so that you don't have to input it again and changing the look of the site. To access these options, Log in and then, under "Your Account", choose the option that says "Edit Personal Information".
